I Believed In You

from Is There a Message For Me? by Johnny Chirnside

/

lyrics

I believed in innocence, honesty and sentiments
In destiny and miracles
And I believed in fairy-tales, aliens and great white whales
And I believed in you

I believed the oracle, the crystal ball, the fortunes told
I thought the writing was on the wall
In wizardry, in fantasy and legends born upon the seas
I believed it all

It's easier to make-believe than have to face what you deceive
It's easier to stem the tide than have to put up with your lies
It's easier to fade away than have to face another day
Believing in you

I believed my Mom knew best and a monster lurks deep in Loch Ness
I always wished upon a star
And I believed in lucky charms, tarot cards and unicorns
I believed in you

It's easier to make-believe than have to face what you deceive
It's easier to stem the tide than have to put up with your lies
It's easier to fade away than have to face another day
Believing in you

I believed in innocence, honesty and sentiments and I believed in you
